Christmas Fair and Bake Sale

On Thursday 12th December we held an Eco-Friendly Christmas Fair and Bake Sale in Taunagh NS. The Green School Committee organised and created, along with all the pupils, Christmas crafts to sell. The focus was on reusing/recycling and using sustainable materials to make the crafts. Toilet roll inserts were used to create star decorations, gonks were made from wool, old jars were turned into kindness jars, timber logs used to make wooden slices, reindeer and yule logs. Scrap timber was turned into Christmas trees, snowmen and Santa faces. Old school books were folded to create fabulous Christmas trees and CDs became reindeer ornaments. Outside in the marquee, the Parent Association ran a Bake Sale with all the delicious cakes, breads and desserts made by parents, pupils, relatives and friends of the school community. It was a very successful event with the money raised going towards activities and resources in the school. A wonderful occasion for our school.
